Eye, Newborough and Thorney parish churches

Children and young people

Children and young people are most welcome at St Matthew's Church. These are the regular activities that we offer:

Sunday School

Sunday school meets on the 2nd, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month. Children of all ages are welcome to come whilst their parents or carers attend the service. The children usually stay in church for the beginning of the service, then leave for Sunday School in the upstairs room. Sunday School has lots of fun with games, stories, crafts all related to a Christian theme. The children go back into church for the end of the service and sometimes tell the congregation about what they have been doing and making. Contact us for more information.

Messy ChurchMessy Church logo

Messy Church meets on the 4th Sunday of most months in term time, from 10am to 12 noon, usually at The Leeds Hall in Eye. It is for busy families to hang out together, enjoy crafts, songs and games, and munch delicious cake. Each session is based on a Bible theme or story and all the activities relate in some way to this theme.

Messy Church is for all ages and parents / carers / grandparents are welcome to sit and chat whilst their children enjoy the activities, or they can join in with them. Children must be accompanied by an adult. To find out what's happening next see the Calendar or contact Jackie Fewtrell via jackie@first-signs.com.

The G.I.G.The GIG

The G.I.G is a youth club for Christians aged 11 and over + any young person interested in Christian things. It meets on Wednesdays during Term Time at the Youth Centre in Eye (next to the Library), from 6pm to 7.30pm. Entrance is free - come along!
