Thorney Flower Festival

Thorney Abbey Flower Festival

Thorney Abbey Flower Festival is held every three years, traditionally on August Bank Holiday weekend.

Groups and individuals from the village come together to create floral decorations around a theme. As well as the displays of flowers, there are also stalls and refreshments on the green adjacent to the Abbey. People come from near and far to visit the Abbey, often combining their trip to other nearby festivals.

The theme of the last festival in 2011 was on Britain, with the picture below showing the diplay featuring the oast houses and farming traditions of Kent.
